Who we are

Master Gardeners are university-trained volunteers who assist UT Extension Offices in providing home horticulture and environmental stewardship information to their home counties. Master Gardeners are recognized by and represent UT Extension as garden experts who serve the community.

The Master Gardeners program promotes environmental stewardship through a network of volunteers who provide research-based information and education to Tennessee communities in home gardening and related areas. As part of our mission the program supports continued education and development for committed volunteers.

"The glory of gardening: hands in the dirt, head in the sun, heart with nature. To nurture a garden is to feed not just the body, but the soul."
